Chris Morant

Chris Morant

Melbourne born, Christopher Morant commenced his journey learning circus and magic whilst living with other artists. In 1994, Chris commenced performing as a fire artist at festivals and some of Melbourne’s most prestigious nightclubs. 2001 saw Chris star in “Carnivale” and “Tropical Fantasy” leaving audiences mesmerised with his fire manipulation.

Over the years Chris has continued working in cabaret shows at the Dragonfly Theatre Restaurant, performing various acts in ‘Is this Love’ and ‘Island Getaway’. His skills range across the circus spectrum from UV magic and mime, to whip cracking, juggling, dance, stilt characters, and fire manipulation.

In 2007 Chris was a semi-finalist on Australia’s Got Talent, and from 2009, he performed various characters whilst part of the entertainment crew on P&O Cruises.

Whilst studying with an Italian leather sculptor in 2000, Chris was exposed to hand-crafted leather masks used in the French theatre of ‘Commedia dell ‘Arte’. Now an expert craftsman himself, Chris makes the masks he then uses in his own performance pieces.

Chris has performed at countless events/shows and is passionate about the importance of ‘quality entertainment’. Having been inspired by ancient mythology, martial arts, theatre and the world of circus, he loves leaving the audience entranced and thoroughly entertained!
