REGISTRATIONS FOR 2021 WILL OPEN ON JANUARY 1 AND CLOSE JANUARY 31

The 2021 Melbourne Magic Festival will take place from the June 28 to July 10.

Week One will be exclusively satellite events, and Week Two will also feature events at our new Hub, 488 Swanston St, Melbourne.

As we continue to wade through the unchartered waters of 2020, we look forward to what 2021 brings as the 14th Annual Melbourne Magic Festival is once again reinvented. We don’t know what kind of audience capacity restrictions will be in place, but now is the right time to start thinking about what kind of show you may like to do, where you might want to do it and what kind of information or support you might need.

Satellite Venues – June 28 to July 10
If you are interested in producing a show in a venue outside of the Hub and having it included and promoted as part of the 2021 MMF, contact Tim@MelbourneMagicFestival.com and we can take you through the process.

Hub Venues – July 6 to 10
Our new hub is Arrow on Swanston, a centrally located multi-purpose venue complete with hotel perfect for late night sessioning and with cafes and restaurants in abundance. https://www.arrowonswanston.com.au/

We have 19 available time slots over 4 distinctly different Hub venues. This is a significantly reduced number of slots due to coping with COVID-based logistics, so unfortunately not everyone who applies will be successful. This is why it is very important to prepare your to present your show in as much detail as possible when applying on January 1. We need to stress that competition for the spaces will no doubt be high. We urge interested participants to explore a range of venue options and chat to us if you need help.

Venue Capacities and COVIDSafe Plans:
We are currently modelling our venues to deliver at COVIDSafe capacities but may be able to scale up quickly to larger capacities in Champions 1 & 2 if regulations allow. We urge all prospective participants to look at their budget models in the same way. Of course, if things change negatively due to Covid, we will change our plans as we consult directly with you to aim that nobody is out of pocket.

Every venue will be required to have a COVIDSafe Plan that complies with Victorian Government requirements. We are developing templates for participants to supply to venues who need help developing adequate and appropriate resources.

Ticketing:
Our new ticketing partner is TryBooking. This will ensure that Box Office costs will be kept as low as possible, you’ll be able to issue comp tickets free for 2021, and you will have complete control of your event.
