Magic Central is our the foyer of our Arrow Hub at the Melbourne Magic Festival, Arrow on Swanston.
There are 4 other theatres in the Arrow Hub: The Slydini Showroom, The Close Up Gallery, The Cardini Cabaret, and The Houdini Theatre. You can explore them using the tabs above.
Magic Central is just down the stairs and to the left when you enter Arrow on Swanston and is the place to hang out before, and after, your show.
Make sure you arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime because this is where you’ll meet the stars of the Festival, pick up some Magic Festival Merchandise, play some games, take photos, and even buy your own magic at the Magic School of Confidence Magic Shop.
You can grab a drink or a snack in Magic Central courtesy of Melbourne Mobile Bars – see their drink list below – or get some breakfast or lunch at the Arrow Cafe next door. For dinner, there is a huge variety of restaurants and cafes nearby to grab a bite before the show.
You can also visit THE MAGIC SHOP hosted by Anthony DeMasi of The Magic School of Confidence, between 10.00am and 3.00pm daily. Anthony will have a wide selection of magic tricks, books, playing cards and assorted paraphernalia available and will happily demonstrate it all for you. You can even sign up to take one of his MAGIC CLASSES at 3.00pm.
Magic Central is also the location of our MMF Info Booth. In addition to RANDOM ACTS OF MAGIC which could occur at any time —- there are also several SHOWS that take place in Magic Central, so check those out below.
The Slydini Showroom is located in the Arrow Hub of the Melbourne Magic Festival, Arrow on Swanston.
The theatre seats 40 guests and has a back row of raised stools making it ideal to watch parlour magic.
Make sure you arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime so you can head downstairs to Magic Central (our theatre foyer) and explore. We’ll have random acts of magic, jam sessions, instagrammable locations and the Magic Universe Shop. In the evening you can grab a cocktail courtesy of Melbourne Mobile Bars.
The Close Up Gallery is located in the Arrow Hub of the Melbourne Magic Festival, Arrow on Swanston.
The theatre seats just 40 guests and has tiered making it ideal to watch intimate sleight of hand illusion.
Make sure you arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime so you can head downstairs to Magic Central (our theatre foyer) and explore. We’ll have random acts of magic, jam sessions, instagrammable locations and the Magic Universe Shop. In the evening you can grab a cocktail courtesy of Melbourne Mobile Bars.
The Cardini Cabaret is located in the Arrow Hub of the Melbourne Magic Festival, Arrow on Swanston.
The theatre seats 80 guests and has a raised stage and comfortable seating. During the day, children are invited to sit on mats in front of the stage so they can enjoy the magic and fun up close.

The Houdini Theatre is located in the Arrow Hub of the Melbourne Magic Festival, Arrow on Swanston.
The theatre seats 260 guests and has a raised proscenium arch stage and huge video screen making it ideal to watch all styles of magic from intimate sleight of hand to large scale grand illusion.

Food – Limited bar snacks like toasties.
