The Australian Magic Championships

For the first time ever, The Australian Magic Championships will be held during The Melbourne Magic Festival.

Magicians of all ages and expertise from Australia and New Zealand are invited to compete with either a Stage Magic or Close Up Magic act.

Applications are now open and six acts will be selected to compete in front of an audience of 350 and a judging panel including two FISM Jury Members on Saturday July 4 at 7.00pm at The Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre, Melbourne.

This event is run according to FISM rules, and each contestant must present a complete act (not a single trick) of at least five minutes and not more than ten minutes.

The winner will receive a trophy, the title ‘Australian Magic Champion 2020’, and a cash prize of $2000. They may also be selected to represent Australia at the 2021 FISM World Championships of Magic in Quebec, Canada.

Second and Third place winners will also receive trophies.

Applications close on April 13, 2020 and all applicants will be notified directly between April 13 and April 17.
