Cath Jamison

Cath Jamison is an impressive entertainer, acclaimed within the entertainment industry as well as the country’s sole female mentalist.

Recognised worldwide in the Magical Arts fraternity, Cath Jamison is one of Australia’s leading magicians & mentalists. Multi-award winning, her charismatic personality and unique skill set has captivated celebrities, media, and public audiences both nationally and internationally.

Highlights of her career include. Celebration of 100 Years of Magic Australian Show, Sydney Mardi Gras-Stars Come Out at Sydney State Theatre, Last Lap-Sydney 2000 Olympics, Melbourne Arts Festival, NGV Art after Dark show, Le Clique-The Famous Spiegeltent, and broke the Guinness Book of Records (twice) for the longest magic show with a team of Melbourne Magicians.

Raised in a family heavily involved in the arts, Cath immersed herself in live performance at a young age. However, it was upon receiving a magic kit and the Boys Book of Conjuring on her fifth birthday that her fascination with the world of mysteries began.While busy mastering her skills in magic at the Magic Unlimited-Magic School., she became intrigued by the psychology of human behaviour and began to observe the body language and behaviours of those around her. It was here she commenced her studies in mentalism, and now possesses extensive knowledge in the fields of telepathy, telekinesis, clairvoyance, pre-cognition.

After working the Australian comedy circuit for many years, astounding the likes of Tim Burton, Dawn French, and Melissa Etheridge, Cath was also a special guest act in the internationally acclaimed show-Celebration of 100 Years of Magic in Australia, Las Vegas magician-Chuck Jones World Festival of Magic Australian tour, Gangsters Ball national tour, Sophie B Hawkins, Sarah McLeod, and Max Sharam Australian Tours.

With over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, her own solo shows have included Conjure Woman, In 2 Minds, I Know What You’re Thinking and Secret Life of a Woman, at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Fringe, Melbourne Magic Festival, Midsumma Festival.

Cath’s versatility has led her into other areas of the entertainment industry, where she was in the cast of The Horseman from Snowy River (Large equestrian production), Australian Shakespeare Company’s Caribbean Pirates, Dark Angels, and co-produced and performed in BeCharmed with Lizzy Gascoigne, HYPNOTIC! with Shane Hill, and Dolls, Doves & a Diva with Erin Walsh, Kelly Anne Doll and Katie Underwood. And currently touring Sass & Secrets with Aurora Kurth as part of the Regional Arts Victoria Connecting Places program.

Her signature style and charismatic demeanour has seen her become the recipient of multiple awards and grants including Professional Stage Magician-26^th International/Australian Magic Convention, Stage Magic– 23^rd International/Australian Magic Convention, Stage Magic– Australian Society of Magicians Convention, Australia’s Best Busker, and Best Female Entertainer-Australian Rainbow Award. The City of Melbourne Cultural Affairs Arts Grant for Secret Life of a Woman, and the City of Port Phillip Cultural Grant for Carnival of Rustic Dreams.

A professionally trained actor from the John Bolton Theatre School, Cath is also a producer, director, and magic consultant and the founder of the Australian School of Magic.
