We are BACK for 2019 with our BIGGEST FESTIVAL EVER!
After eleven hugely successful Magic Festivals, Melbourne is now internationally acknowledged as the centre of the magical arts in Australia. Our 2018 Festival attracted over 12,000 magic lovers including fans from the USA, Canada, South America, the UK, the South Pacific, New Zealand, and Asia.
With over 75 different shows in 16 different venues, The Melbourne Magic Festival has grown beyond our wildest dreams thanks to the incredible support of our magic fans.
This year we have more international guest stars than ever before with Reuben Moreland (USA), Carisa Hendrix (CAN), Simone Turkington (USA), John Lovick (USA), Simon Coronel (USA), Dan Harlan (USA), Brendan Dooley (NZ), and our special guests David Kaplan (USA), and the world’s most famous magician Lu Chen (China).
Local superstars include Tim Ellis, Dom Chambers, Nicholas J Johnson, Michael Pope, and our MMF Patron Cosentino, The Grand Illusionist with his new show ‘Anything is Possible’ at The Palais Theatre.
Last year we were rebooted thanks to an incredible new partnership with the world renowned Circus Oz conjuring up a new hub for us at the Melba Spiegeltent in Collingwood – this year we have expanded even further with our second hub The MC Showroom in Prahran as well as a partnership with The Butterfly Club.
We still have our roots firmly in Northcote with shows at Wesley Anne and The Laneway Theatre, and The Australian Junior Championships of Magic is back at Arts Centre Melbourne.
Tickets go on sale 9.00am April 1 and they are guaranteed to disappear fast – especially our ever popular Gala Shows.
There’s so much to see and disbelieve this year including the new ‘Secret Showcase’ series, new offerings from the abstract Dane Certificate, the all-female ‘Now You See Us’ show, the father and son magicians in ‘The Amazing Danny’s MEGA Magic Show’, the father and daughter combo in ‘Boondoggle’, the future of magic in ’21: Magic’s Next Generation’, and cabaret shows like ‘Sass & Secrets’ and ‘The Paris Underground’.
