TEN DOLLAR TUESDAYS

This is a brand new initiative for the MMF 2013 and we expect it to be a huge success. Both Tuesdays during the Festival are ‘Ten Dollar Tuesdays‘ for all the shows in Studio 3. That means you can attend these shows, which retail at up to $28, for only $10! All you need to do is to book tickets online, over the phone or in person for any Tuesday performance of the Studio 3 shows, and you’ll only pay $10!

INEXPENSIVE SHOWS

We always keep the prices magically affordable, but take a look through the Festival Program and you’ll discover a lot of low price hidden treasures including The Australian Junior Championships of Magic – Stage and Close Up – and Carnival of Magic, at only $15 for an adult ticket, Magic School or Magic Class admit adults for only $5!

FREE SHOWS

We have several free events this year including the Move Monkeys Session, The Panel Discussion, and a show that you can pay what you think it’s worth called… the Pay What It’s Worth Show.

GROUP BOOKINGS

If you can gather a group of 10 or more together – whether they are from your social or sporting club, workmates, friends or family – you will get seriously deep discounting when you book using the GROUP ticket option.

DISCOUNT CODE WORDS

Another hidden feature at the MMF are the Discount Code Words. Many shows offer special low prices for those who quote a special word when making their booking. How do you discover these secret magic words? Check on the flyers for the shows, look in the newspaper and listen to the radio… maybe even ask around. Remember, every few dollars you save go towards a ticket for another great show!

WAYNE HOUCHIN

“A CROSS BETWEEN A CON MAN & A STREET MAGICIAN – A FASCINATING LIVE PERFORMER!”The Synthesis Magazine wrote that about Wayne Houchin in 2004. He has since become one of the most popular magicians in the world – astonishing audiences in more than 30 countries.

In 1999 Houchin made headlines by escaping from a straitjacket while hanging 50 feet above an intersection packed with thousands of people – he was 16 years old. A few critically acclaimed theatre shows later, he found himself on the front page again – this time for accurately predicting the exact outcome of the Super Bowl. Next it was being blindfolded with duct tape and driving safely down Highway 99 in Northern California for Synthesis Magazine. Young, ambitious and charismatic, Houchin has a history of pushing himself.

Wayne’s original sleight-of-hand magic has delighted non-magicians and magicians alike. He worked with Criss Angel on the hit TV show Mindfreak, co-founded the popular magic website theory11 and has headlined at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. As part of the Curiosidades team, he made history in 2010 by stopping time in the Dominican Republic – for the entire nation! The illusion was broadcast on live national television to a captivated and stunned audience. One year later Houchin again garnered national attention, this time by executing an epic dual escape with his wife, Frania.
